U-I’M

2005-2008

U-I’M was a cooperative of two multidisciplinary visual artists (Susana Aragón and me) who were interested in new methods of expression that challenge definitions and normative forms of productions.

Our basic goal was to create artistic experiments that examine abstract ideas on – (urbanization, identity and memory) through the making of live art, installations, interventions and record keeping such as Quipu making, drawing, video, photography and writing.

From this collective vision, I’ve created a series of studies entitled Appearing Natural (formally named Naturalizing the Urban Body) that explores ideas about the urban body, the urban space and explores collective-identity.
